$ETH Ethereum (ETH) continues to evolve with its recent "Pectra" upgrade, released in mid-2025. This update improved staking through EIP-7251, enhanced wallet experiences with EIP-3074 for better account abstraction, and increased blob storage capacity, leading to significantly cheaper transactions on layer-2 networks. As a result, Ethereum's layer-2 ecosystem, including rollups like Arbitrum and Optimism, is seeing much lower costs—down to fractions of a penny.
Looking ahead, the Fusaka hard fork, expected later in 2025, will bring even more improvements. This includes PeerDAS, allowing validators to download only parts of data instead of everything, and the introduction of Verkle trees to reduce state bloat. The upgrade will also implement an enhanced EVM Object Format, which boosts throughput and lowers gas fees while making it easier for people to run Ethereum nodes.
Meanwhile, layer-2 solutions are growing fast, with Optimistic and zero-knowledge rollups providing faster and cheaper transactions. Overall, Ethereum’s ecosystem is thriving, supported by rising adoption and robust price performance. With these updates, Ethereum is poised for greater scalability and efficiency, continuing its leadership in the blockchain space.#ETH #ARB #OP
