#Apple

Apple revealed during its annual developer conference a series of technical updates focused on improving daily user experience, without getting swept up in the race for grand promises in the field of AI adopted by competing companies.

Craig Federighi, the company's Vice President of Software Engineering, announced that Apple will make the underlying AI model it uses in some of its features available to third-party developers.

The step aims to enable partners to seamlessly integrate AI into their applications.

Integration of ChatGPT and improvements to Siri

Among the first examples of integration with external tools, the image generation technology from ChatGPT was introduced into the 'Image Playground' app, with Apple confirming that user data will not be shared with OpenAI without user consent.

New design in operating systems: 'Liquid Glass'

Apple announced a radical change in the design of its operating systems, which it called 'Liquid Glass', featuring transparent interfaces and modern icons.

Federighi stated that the new design was made possible by the evolution of Apple's custom processors and will extend to include iOS, macOS, and more.

The company also announced the unification of its operating system names using release years instead of scattered numbers, to facilitate differentiation.

New features.. answering calls and live translation

Among the practical features introduced by Apple is the 'Auto-Reply' feature, which answers calls from unknown numbers and asks the caller to clarify the reason for the call, then displays the text to the user before deciding to answer.

The company also introduced a live translation feature for phone calls that works even if the caller does not use an iPhone, enhancing multilingual communication capabilities.

Improvements to the Visual Intelligence app

Apple has expanded the capabilities of the Visual Intelligence app, allowing it to analyze items displayed on the phone screen and link them directly to shopping apps.

For example, the app can recognize a jacket displayed on a website and suggest purchasing it from another app installed on the device.
