Markets are now focusing on the crucial talks taking place this weekend between U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Piesen, Chief Trade Negotiator Jamison Greer, and their Chinese counterparts in Switzerland. Notably, China was excluded from the period of tariff suspension imposed by Trump and is now facing U.S. tariffs of no less than 145%. Beijing has responded by imposing reciprocal tariffs of 125%, raising concerns about escalating trade disputes between the two largest economies in the world.
