#USChinaTradeTalks Current US–China Trade Talks: Key Issues and Perspectives
Trade talks between the United States and China resumed in London in June 2025, after a 90-day pause in the escalation of tariffs announced after the G20 summit. The main topics of negotiation include the export of rare earth materials, access to advanced technologies, and structural changes in trade policy.
China proposed to restore the agreement from 2020 (the so-called "Phase 1"), committing to increase imports of American products and limit the export of fentanyl precursors. In turn, the US demands a quicker resumption of rare earth material exports and the lifting of restrictions on access to key technologies.
Despite progress, the talks have not yet concluded with a specific agreement. The market is reacting cautiously, awaiting further developments, especially in the context of upcoming inflation data in the US.
