On Thursday, U.S. President Donald Trump criticized billionaire Elon Musk, saying he feels "disappointed" due to Musk's public opposition to the comprehensive tax and spending bill that is at the heart of Trump's agenda. Musk responded, "Without me, the U.S. president would have lost the election."
Trump stated in a remark at the White House, "Elon and I have a great relationship... I don't know if we will remain so from now on."
He added, "He has said the nicest things about me, and he hasn't said anything bad about me personally, except I am sure that will come later. But I feel very disappointed in Elon... I have helped him a lot."
Trump also confirmed that Musk launched a sharp attack on the bill due to the proposed elimination of tax exemptions for electric vehicle owners.
