"He said nice things about me before and did not show direct hostility, but I feel a great disappointment. I have given him a lot of support."
Trump clarified that Musk strongly attacked the bill due to the proposed elimination of tax exemptions granted to electric vehicle buyers, which directly affects the interests of companies like Tesla, which Musk heads.
For his part, Musk expressed his objection, stating that the bill "will increase the federal budget deficit," adding in a notable statement:
"Without me, President Trump would not have won the election."
