📊 #TradingPairs101 — What are trading pairs and how do they work? 💱
In the crypto world, you don't just buy “bitcoin.” You trade one currency against another. This is called a trading pair.
💡 What is a trading pair?
It's a pair of two currencies that can be exchanged for one another.
🔁 Examples:
BTC/USDT — you buy or sell BTC for Tether.
ETH/BTC — you trade Ethereum against Bitcoin.
SOL/BNB — you exchange Solana for Binance Coin.
🧠 How does it work?
The first currency is the base (what you buy/sell).
The second is the quote (in what the price is measured).
📈 If in the pair BTC/USDT the price = 70,000 — this means that 1 BTC = 70,000 USDT.
🚨 What to pay attention to?
Liquidity: popular pairs = lower spread and faster trades.
Volatility: some pairs “jump” quickly — be careful with alts.
Fees: some pairs have lower fees on exchanges.
🎯 Tip:
Start with stable pairs (for example, BTC/USDT) before diving into exotic ones like $PEPE/$FLOKI 😅
