President Trump told reporters: I am very disappointed with Elon. I have helped him a lot. He understands the content of the bill better than anyone sitting here. He used to have no issues with it. Suddenly, now he opposes it, and only started opposing after learning that we would cut the mandatory electric vehicle funding (i.e., cutting billions of USD in government subsidies for electric vehicles).

Elon Musk responded: Like it or not. Keep the cuts to electric vehicle and solar energy incentives in the bill, even though subsidies for the oil and gas industry are not touched (so unfair!!), but please remove the pile of "dirty," excessive "garbage" in the bill.

In the entire history of humanity, there has never been a law that is both "big" and "good". Everyone knows that!

Either you have a big and bad bill, or you have a slim and beautiful bill.

Slim and beautiful is the right path.
