#TradingPairs101 š Pair Up! Mastering Trading Pairs 101
š¹ Whatās a Trading Pair?
A trading pair represents two assets you can swap on an exchange ā think BTC/USDT.
š¹ Base vs. Quote
The first asset is the base currency (what youāre buying/selling).
The second is the quote currency (used to price the base).
The displayed price tells you how much of the quote you need for one unit of the base.
š¹ Major Pairs & Cross Pairs
Major pairs: Top coins like BTC/ETH, ETH/USDT ā high liquidity and tighter spreads.
Cross pairs: Two cryptos traded directly (e.g. BTC/ETH) without touching fiat.
Fiat pairs: Direct crypto-to-fiat like BTC/USD or ETH/EUR ā great for tracking real-world value.
š¹ Liquidity is Key
Higher volume = smoother trades and smaller bid-ask spreads.
š¹ Mind the Fees
Always check the fees on each pair ā they can eat into your profits.
š¹ Practice Makes Perfect
Use demo or paper trading accounts to get comfortable before going live.
