#TradingPairs101

trading pair shows which two assets you can trade against each other on an exchange.

Format:

BASE/QUOTE

For example:

BTC/USDT

This means:

You are buying or selling BTC

Using USDT as the value reference

---

📘 Terminology

Term Meaning

Base The asset you are buying or selling (e.g., BTC)

Quote The asset you are using to price the trade (e.g., USDT)

So if:

BTC/USDT = 67,000

→ 1 BTC = 67,000 USDT

---

📊 Example Trading Pairs

Pair Meaning

ETH/USDT Buy/sell ETH using USDT

BTC/ETH Buy/sell BTC using ETH

SOL/BNB Buy/sell SOL using BNB

SHIB/USDC Buy/sell SHIB using USDC

---

🏦 Why Trading Pairs Matter

They determine what you can trade with what.

Not all tokens are paired directly (e.g., you might not find SHIB/BNB).

You might need to make multiple swaps to get what you want.

---

🔄 Swapping Example

Let’s say you have MATIC, and want to buy BTC:

If there's no direct MATIC/BTC pair, you might:

1. Swap MATIC → USDT

2. Then swap USDT → BTC
