The company set the share placement price at $31 per share, exceeding the expected range of $27–28, and raised $1.05 billion by issuing 34 million shares. Circle's market capitalization was approximately $6.8–8 billion depending on the count considering options and other instruments. The shares are traded under the ticker CRCL.
The IPO has become one of the largest in the crypto industry in recent times and reflects high investor interest in stablecoins and crypto firms. Circle, led by CEO Jeremy Allaire, is one of the pioneers in the cryptocurrency sector and holds the second position in the stablecoin market by volume after Tether (USDT).
The share placement will give the company access to deeper capital and strengthen trust from institutional investors amid growing regulation of the cryptocurrency market in the USA.
