The XRP Ledger (XRPL) ecosystem is gearing up for a major technical upgrade that could significantly expand its real-world utility. The news was announced by XRPL validator Vet, who shared that token escrow functionality — previously available only for XRP — will soon be extended to other token types as well. This includes IOUs (I Owe You tokens) and MPTs (Multi-Purpose Tokens), giving developers and users new ways to interact with digital assets on the ledger.
Vet specifically highlighted MPT support as a significant milestone for the network’s evolving capabilities.
