Billionaire Tim Draper still holds all 30,000 Bitcoins since 2014
In a recent interview, venture capitalist Tim Draper confirmed that he still owns 30,000 BTC that he purchased from the Silk Road seized asset auction in 2014.
Although Bitcoin's price has fluctuated significantly over the past decade, Draper asserts:
"I am still continuing to buy more."
At the current price, this amount of Bitcoin is worth over 3 billion USD, while Draper's net worth is estimated by Forbes to be around 2.9 billion USD.
Big bet: Bitcoin will reach 250,000 USD by the end of 2025
Draper has long held an extremely optimistic view of Bitcoin's future, and he has not changed his target: BTC will reach 250,000 USD by the end of 2025.
According to him, Bitcoin is a decentralized global store of value, and despite short-term volatility, the long-term trend remains extremely positive.
When asked whether he has sold some BTC or adjusted his portfolio since the 2014 auction, Draper declined to disclose details but emphasized that he is still accumulating more.
From a 19 million USD investment to over 3 billion USD
In 2014, Draper spent about 19 million USD to buy 30,000 BTC, equivalent to about 633 USD each.
After more than 10 years, this investment has increased more than 150 times, becoming one of the most successful bets in the financial world.
In the context of spot Bitcoin ETFs increasingly being accepted and large institutions continuing to enter the market, Draper's confidence in BTC and his strategy of 'hold tight, buy more' seems to be strongly reinforced.
