The new film by the Oscar-winning author of Parasite appealed to me precisely for what probably did not appeal to most viewers.

Four technomagnates meet in the mountain residence of one of them to ride out the global crisis they themselves brewed. One of them is the owner of the social network Traam (yes!), the second is the creator of the most advanced artificial intelligence, the third is a cynical investor, and the fourth feels like a poor relative among them, as he is just a millionaire, not a billionaire. Together they discuss the new world order, plan to buy Argentina, indulge in drugs, plot a murder - in a word, they are having a great time in nature.

This film by the Oscar-winning Korean Bong Joon-ho, the author of Parasite, appealed to me precisely for what probably did not appeal to most viewers. The thing is that the director stuffed so much variety into it that it was enough for a dozen films. Here you have science fiction, political satire, an exploration of social inequality, ecological manifestos, and gender issues... It sounds scary, but watching it is fun and interesting, Pattinson is a cutie.

From the creator of films like Black Panther, you wouldn't expect anything like this. But it seems that Ryan Coogler got tired of making summer blockbusters for teenagers, so he created a wild movie about vampires, filled with blues, racial confrontation, and cotton plantations. Yeah, it looks crazy - and it is. But somehow the creators of this film managed not to slip into utter trash, but to remain in the territory of true cinema art.
