This secondary network helped break a world record at the Bitcoin 2025 conference, held in Las Vegas. As reported by Forbes magazine, participants at the event were able to make 4001 payment transactions on the Lightning Network in one day.
This earned them the Guinness World Record for "Most Bitcoin Payments in 8 Hours.
