Exchange ElDorado suspends operations in Venezuela.
Guillermo Goncalvez, co-founder and CEO of the P2P exchange El Dorado, announced the suspension of operations in Venezuela through a video released on Saturday, May 31. The company allows the exchange of stablecoins for local currencies in the South American region.
"El Dorado will cease operations in Venezuela immediately," he asserted, while expressing his apologies for any negative impact caused by the platform.
"First of all, I am deeply regretful, as in no way have our actions been aimed at promoting speculation about the parallel dollar in Venezuela," Goncalvez stated, who also offered apologies and took responsibility for any harm caused.
