According to local media, French prosecutors have indicted 25 suspects, aged between 16 and 23, involved in a series of violent attacks targeting wealthy individuals in the cryptocurrency field.

The investigation focuses on the attack on May 13 targeting the daughter, son-in-law, and grandson of the CEO of the Paymium exchange – Mr. Pierre Noizat. According to prosecutors, the incident was carried out by four armed men in broad daylight. However, thanks to the timely intervention of a passerby, the attackers had to flee. The three victims sustained only minor injuries and were treated at the hospital.

According to Le Monde, the investigation also extends to at least two other unexecuted plots. Sources close to the case indicate that the indicted group includes both low-level "perpetrators" and higher-level logistical roles, but does not yet include the mastermind. A defense lawyer told Le Monde that most of these youths were "enticed by money and fell into a situation beyond their control."

The attacks have attracted international public attention in recent weeks, prompting senior officials of the French government to speak out. Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau met with leaders in the cryptocurrency industry to discuss response measures.

"We need to coordinate to protect digital entrepreneurs," Mr. Retailleau declared. "But at the same time, we will pursue the perpetrators wherever they are, even abroad."

Similar attacks have also occurred recently in the UK, the US, and several other countries. A community tracking website reported 29 violent attacks targeting cryptocurrency asset holders since the beginning of 2025 – potentially surpassing the 34 incidents recorded for the entire year of 2024.
