Italian crypto investor Michael Valentino Teofrasto Carturan was reportedly kidnapped and tortured for 17 days in a posh SoHo apartment in Manhattan. The offenders, John Woeltz and William Duplessie, apparently attempted to gain access to Carturan's Bitcoin assets by subjecting him to electric shocks, physical assault, and psychological torment.
However, both suspects were arrested after the victim escaped and sought assistance; they are expected to appear in court on June 11.
