One of the leading news publications, Business Insider, announced a 21% reduction in its total staff, stating outright that they will be replaced by AI.
The CEO informed employees about the layoffs and backed the decision by saying that Business Insider is "betting on AI".
This has been called a disgrace and a slap in the face to journalists on social media. This is already the third round of layoffs at the publication in a few years.
