$TRUMP Hester Peirce, a senior member of the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), announced that the agency is no longer regulating memecoins.
This means that investors should not expect any protection or guidance on tokens like TRUMP.
"There is a lot of interest in memecoins, but people should know that you shouldn't expect SEC protection on these assets," Peirce said in an interview with CNBC. This statement was made at the Bitcoin 2025 conference in Las Vegas.
