If you have been scammed
If you have been scammed on the Binance platform, here are the recommended steps to follow:
⸻
1. Check the transaction details carefully
• Review the transaction history in your Binance account.
• Make sure what happened is not a mistake or a technical delay.
• Make sure the transaction was done through a third party or an app linked to your account.
⸻
2. Stop any suspicious activities immediately
• Change your account password.
• Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) if it is not enabled.
• Disable API access if you are using it
3. Contact official Binance support
• Access the Binance support center.
• Open a support ticket and explain the problem in detail, attaching:
• Transaction number.
• Date and time.
• Any related images or evidence.
Note: Do not trust anyone claiming to be “Binance technical support” on Telegram or WhatsApp.
4. Gather evidence
• Keep all emails or conversations.
• Take screenshots of any suspicious transactions.
⸻
5. If the scam was outside of Binance (for example, from someone who promised you profits)
• Binance will not be able to recover the funds in this case as it was not a direct party in the transaction.
• But you can file a criminal complaint with the relevant authorities in your country (police or cybercrime department).
