Israeli forces have shot and wounded at least 20 people seeking aid at the newest distribution point set up by the controversial Gaza Humanitarian Foundation in central Gaza.
Hamas is currently reviewing a new ceasefire proposal the United States says has been signed off on by Israel, but that in its current form will only result in more killings in Gaza.
Gaza’s Health Ministry says Israel’s ordering al-Awda Hospital to close is a “crime”, as Palestinians struggle to find care in a health system decimated by Israeli attacks.
Israel’s war on Gaza has killed at least 54,249 Palestinians and wounded 123,492, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry. The Government Media Office updated its death toll to more than 61,700, saying thousands of people missing under the rubble are presumed dead.
An estimated 1,139 people were killed in Israel during the Hamas-led attacks of October 7, 2023, and more than 200 were taken captive.
