📊 PCE Data to be Released Tonight at 20:30: Market Focus

The U.S. Department of Commerce will release the April Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) Price Index tonight (May 30) at 20:30 (Beijing Time), which is one of the inflation indicators that the Federal Reserve pays the most attention to. The market generally expects:

Overall PCE Year-on-Year: Expected to decrease from 2.3% to 2.2%, the lowest level since September 2024.

Core PCE Year-on-Year (excluding food and energy): Expected to decrease from 2.6% to 2.5%, but still above the Federal Reserve's target of 2%.

Despite a moderation in overall inflation, the stickiness of core inflation continues to raise market concerns. Additionally, recent tariffs imposed by the U.S. may exert upward pressure on inflation in the coming months.
