Las Vegas: The head of the Crypto Council, Bilal bin Thaqib, has stated that Pakistan has changed its stance on not making crypto a legal currency and, following the US, the government is establishing a Bitcoin strategic reserve.

While addressing the Bitcoin conference in Las Vegas, the head of the Crypto Council, Bilal bin Thaqib, mentioned that Pakistan established a 'National Crypto Council' in February to attract foreign investment and for cryptocurrencies.

He stated that Pakistan is adopting crypto regulatory policies and has established the 'National Crypto Council' for the development of a comprehensive regulatory framework.

The head of the Crypto Council said that Pakistan has changed its stance on not making crypto a legal currency, and the country is following the US in establishing a Bitcoin strategic reserve, moving forward to establish a strategic Bitcoin reserve.

Bilal bin Thaqib further mentioned that in May, an announcement was made to allocate 2,000 megawatts of additional energy for Bitcoin mining and high-performance computing data centers.
