The U.S. could acquire more bitcoin: David Sacks
According to the cryptocurrency czar, the U.S. is considering expanding its bitcoin reserves to ensure its strategic financial leadership.
David Sacks, the White House's artificial intelligence and cryptocurrency czar, confirmed on the first day of the Bitcoin Conference 2025 that the U.S. government is evaluating increasing its bitcoin reserves as part of a strategy to consolidate the country's technological and financial leadership.
In his conversation with the Winklevoss twins, Tyler and Cameron, founders of the cryptocurrency company Gemini, Sacks referred to the executive order signed by President Donald Trump in March, which established the creation of a strategic bitcoin reserve and authorized the government to acquire more digital coins as long as the purchases are "budget neutral," meaning without increasing public debt.
