⚠️🚨IS BITCOIN'S SECURITY AT RISK?🚨⚠️
A Google and BlackRock engineer warns about the quantum threat to $BTC
Craig Gidney, software engineer, and the world's largest asset management firm warned about the theoretical danger of quantum computing.
The alleged risks that quantum computing could pose to the security of Bitcoin (BTC) and other cryptographic systems, such as those supporting traditional banking, are once again the focus of analysis.
This time, Craig Gidney, a software engineer and researcher at Google Quantum AI, and BlackRock, the largest financial asset manager in the world, have issued warnings that reignite the discussion about the vulnerability of encryptions in the face of quantum technological developments.
In his new 2025 study, Gidney makes a surprising breakthrough: "I estimate that a 2048-bit RSA integer could be factored in less than a week with less than a million noisy qubits," he stated. This means that the cryptographic lock, which protects systems like those of Bitcoin, could be opened with a machine much less powerful than previously thought.
