Bitwise CEO Projects Historic Bitcoin Growth
The U.S. regulatory landscape’s evolution in 2025 will allow traditional wealth managers to allocate client funds to bitcoin for the first time, Bitwise Investments boss Hunter Horsley told Bitcoin 2025 attendees. He cited a recent UTXO report estimating the move could unlock hundreds of billions in institutional investments.
Wealth managers, overseeing between $30 trillion and $60 trillion in assets, may allocate just 1% to bitcoin (BTC), reshaping the asset’s adoption trajectory.
“That’s hundreds of billions of dollars,” Horsley stressed.
He further said that his company, Bitwise, a firm serving wealth managers and institutional clients, has conducted “thousands” of investor meetings to educate potential entrants. Horsley emphasized the scale of the opportunity, calling it hard to fathom due to the sheer size of traditional capital pools.
“We’ve never been more excited,” he said, noting heightened optimism within the crypto sector. The Bitwise executive further stated:We’re entering a new chapter in 2025.
Horsley, whose firm has operated in the crypto space for seven years, stressed that bitcoin’s integration into mainstream portfolios will unfold over “months and quarters,” not days. He highlighted Bitwise’s role in guiding institutional investors through due diligence and regulatory compliance processes.
Despite bitcoin’s past volatility and regulatory complexities, Horsley argued the asset’s maturation is inevitable. “We’re all part of a community where, my gosh, it’s happening—Bitcoin is becoming a mainstream asset,” he told attendees, urging long-term perspective.
