Donald Trump: The EU is ready for trade negotiations.
I am very pleased with the introduction of 50% tariffs on goods from the EU, especially considering how slowly (to put it mildly!) Our negotiations were going on.
I remind you: I have the authority to set the terms of trade for imports to the United States if I can’t negotiate or I feel unfair.
I have just been informed that EU representatives urgently requested the dates of new meetings. It’s a good sign. I hope that, as in negotiations with China, they will finally open their markets to trade with the United States.
