Just because you were accurate in the past doesn't mean you can be accurate now.
Past experience is useful, but it doesn’t mean it is still effective now.
If you continue to live in the past, it will be hard to improve or develop, so you need to approach life dialectically.
I was doing communication engineering in Africa back in 2008. At that time, doing engineering was relatively simple, but by 2010, the model had changed. If you continue to use the project management experience from 2008, it could lead to issues. After returning to my country, I was in sales in 2015, continued in sales in 2017, and again in 2021. Indeed, every year there are new models. Referring to past experience is somewhat useful, but it is not absolutely reliable; that’s basically the point.
You cannot completely rely on past experience, especially when making significant investments.
