The President of the U.S., Donald Trump, agreed to delay the imposition of a 50% tariff on European products until July 9.
"I agreed to the extension — July 9, 2025 — It was a privilege to do so," Trump wrote on Truth Social.
The President of the European Commission, Ursula Von der Leyen, and the President of the United States, Donald Trump, announced this Sunday (25.05.2025) an extension until July 9 for the pause on tariff enforcement against the European Union, while trade negotiations continue.
Amid their trade war, the United States had considered imposing a 50% customs duty on European products.
