Crypto dinner with Trump: Spent $360,000 on tokens, received 'buttered bread' and disappointment
Spent a lot, received a terrible meal, and didn't get a photo
Nicholas Pinto, a 25-year-old internet phenomenon, spent up to $360,000 to buy TRUMP tokens to attend a cryptocurrency dinner with U.S. President Donald Trump, but the result left him 'hungry and disappointed.'
Pinto shared with Fortune that the main dishes, steak and fried halibut, were so bad that they 'looked like they were bought at Walmart,' while the organic salad named after Trump did not save the culinary experience.
'This is the worst meal of my life,' Pinto said, expressing disappointment at not being able to take a picture with Trump, something he looked forward to when spending the huge amount to attend.
Expectations for Big Mac, receiving 'empty words'
Pinto admitted he had high hopes, even hoping to taste Trump's favorite dish, Big Mac or pizza, but 'only received hollow speeches' from the President.
He added that most guests had no chance to interact directly with Trump. Even Caitlin Sinclair, the host of the OANN channel and also the event organizer, complained that Trump 'didn’t bother to take a picture' with her.
Outside protesting, inside only able to eat... buttered bread
The event also faced fierce backlash from the nonprofit organization Public Citizen, which called the cryptocurrency projects related to Trump 'one of the most serious acts of corruption in American political history.'
The organization’s president, Robert Weissman, directly condemned this dinner. At the end of the party at 10 p.m., Pinto had to compensate by eating the... buttered bread served at the beginning of the meal, the only dish he found 'edible.'
