Changpeng Zhao (CZ), co-founder and former CEO of Binance, has publicly denied involvement with World Liberty Financial (WLFI) following an article claiming he had connections with entities related to Donald Trump and owned stakes in Binance US.

CZ dismissed this information on platform X (Twitter).

Specifically, in a post on platform X, Changpeng Zhao (CZ) refuted the WSJ article, claiming it was filled with misinformation and negative assumptions.

This article accuses CZ of being linked to a decentralized finance project backed by entities associated with Donald Trump, managed by his two sons, Eric and Donald Jr.

WSJ also described CZ as the 'fixer' for the WLFI group and co-founder Zach Witkoff, suggesting he assisted them during overseas trips, including a visit to Pakistan, where they allegedly signed a memorandum of understanding with local officials. Zhao denied all these allegations.

In a post on platform X, Changpeng Zhao (CZ) asserted that he was not a broker or connector of anyone, denying introducing Mr. Saqib (the Pakistani official) to WLFI or organizing any meetings abroad.

CZ stated that he only met Saqib for the first time in Pakistan, while the involved parties had known each other beforehand. He also criticized WSJ for posing misleading and negative hypothetical questions.

Changpeng Zhao (CZ) and his media team dismissed the WSJ article, claiming it contained many inaccuracies and was written with malicious intent. CZ criticized WSJ as a mouthpiece for anti-cryptocurrency forces in the US, aiming to thwart efforts to make the country a global cryptocurrency capital.

He accused the article of being part of a campaign against the cryptocurrency industry, industry leaders, and governments supporting cryptocurrency. CZ had previously opposed a prior WSJ article on April 11, which alleged that he agreed to testify against Justin Sun — a claim he denied, suggesting that someone at WSJ had been paid to defame him.
