🎓 The launch of this Hong Kong Institute of Information Technology (HKITT)'s Metaverse Innovation Centre — our first @TheSandboxGame official Training Partner in Hong Kong 🇭🇰 — signals strong recognition that Hong Kong is ahead of the curve in preparing for the jobs of the future, where the creator economy and blockchain skills play a central role. The program is designed to prepare students for careers in the metaverse industry while fostering creativity and innovation. The curriculum will cover key areas such as VoxEdit, Game Maker and metaverse design principles. By combining theoretical knowledge with practical application, HKIIT aims to position students as pioneers in the metaverse industry. The program is open to students, aspiring developers, and professionals seeking to upskill in this transformative field. Video Games, Metaverse, Web3 are part of our day to day lives, but making and playing video games brings a lot of important skills needed for the jobs of the future, from problem solving, iterative thinking, team collaboration, adaptatinng to new technology and changing landscape, spatial recognition, etc. I believe also in the power of connecting business and academic world together, and hence we are not just training these students, we’re actively looking for opportunities to connect them with businesses in Hong Kong who want to step up into the metaverse and give a chance to connect more closely with their audiences In collaboration with our trusted partner @Indexgamehk and their Index Academy, the students will gain unvaluable knowledge and creative skills that they can deploy into concrete projects from digital twins of historical and cultural landmarks of Hong Kong to learning experiences, forward-thinking solutions towards smarter cities, transportation solving, etc. We look forward to this collaboration and hope it will inspire more people that yes this is possible, the digital worlds and the digital economy awaits us.
