Zhao Changpeng Responds to WSJ Report, Calling it 'Deliberate Fabrication and Non-Journalistic Behavior'

Binance founder Zhao Changpeng (CZ) posted on X platform in response to a recent report by the Wall Street Journal regarding his involvement in the World Liberty Financial project, stating that it was not a genuine interview but rather a 'malicious fabrication disguised as a question'. He questioned that the WSJ has become a 'megaphone for negative narratives'. Zhao Changpeng cited the 'Cunningham's Law' to point out that the WSJ, by constructing a false narrative, intended to induce clarification, which violates journalistic ethics. He emphasized that the inquiries submitted by the WSJ were filled with 'incorrect and negative assumptions', such as accusing him of 'facilitating' the WLF team and arranging meetings with Pakistani official Saqib, while the fact is that his first meeting with Saqib was in Pakistan, and he has not been involved in any international itinerary of WLF. He bluntly stated, 'When the report starts from a negative standpoint, any so-called 'correction' is meaningless, because the entire story itself is fabricated.' He also believes that this incident reflects 'the attempt of certain forces in the United States to suppress the development of the cryptocurrency industry, targeting global crypto leaders and supportive government positions.'
