FIFA is stepping into the future of digital experiences by partnering with Avalanche to build its own blockchain. This new Layer-1 network will power fan - focused Web3 features, like digital collectibles and immersive experiences, offering faster transactions and lower fees. With Avalanche’s technology, the blockchain will support over 6,500 transactions per second and confirm them in under two seconds.
FIFA will also migrate its FIFA Collect platform from Algorand to Avalanche, bringing Ethereum - compatible NFT tools to fans around the world. The project is being developed by Modex, a Web3 tech company, and is part of FIFA’s broader push to deepen fan engagement through innovation.
Since the announcement, Avalanche’s native token AVAX saw a strong rise in trading activity, highlighting investor confidence in the collaboration. This move shows how traditional sports organizations are embracing blockchain to stay ahead in a fast-evolving digital world.
