Robinhood officially announced the acquisition of Toronto-based WonderFi for CAD 250 million, marking a significant step in its Canadian expansion strategy.
The deal is at a 41% premium to WonderFi's last closing price and will bring WonderFi's 115-member team and well-known crypto brands Bitbuy, Coinsquare, and SmartPay under the Robinhood Crypto umbrella.
This acquisition is expected to be completed in the second half of 2025 and is forecasted to significantly enhance Robinhood's cryptocurrency influence in Canada.

Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) added another 7,390 BTC to its corporate treasury, spending about $765 million as Bitcoin's trading price broke $100,000.
This increase brings its total holdings to 576,230 Bitcoins (acquired for $40.2 billion), currently valued at over $59.2 billion, with unrealized gains of approximately $19.2 billion. However, this aggressive Bitcoin strategy remains under scrutiny.
