In less than 2 weeks, Nguyễn Minh Huy – an anonymous programmer from Ho Chi Minh City – has become the center of the Vietnamese crypto community by surpassing thousands of traders worldwide, ranking Top 1 on the Merlin Trading Competition leaderboard, bringing home a prize worth $50,000.
The competition is organized by Merlin DEX, a rapidly growing decentralized trading platform on the zkSync ecosystem, aimed at attracting users to test their new feature: high-speed trading with almost zero latency.
"I didn't expect to win. At first, I was just testing the strategy bot, didn't think I would top the leaderboard," Huy shared on his personal Twitter along with a screenshot of the leaderboard showing his wallet name.
According to the official announcement from Merlin Foundation, the total prize pool of the competition amounts to $200,000, distributed among wallets with the highest trading volumes in real-time. The system uses Merkle-proof to demonstrate transparency, ensuring that the results cannot be manipulated.
