WCT Project - Waves Community Token
What is the WCT Project?
Waves Community Token or WCT is a project launched in 2017 on the Waves network with the aim of:
Empowering the community to participate in evaluating and supporting new projects launched on the Waves network.
Encouraging users to support the ecosystem and contribute to its development through voting and rewards.
Goals of the WCT Project:
1. Verifying the credibility of new projects through votes from WCT holders.
2. Granting the community an influential role in the development process and decision-making within the Waves platform.
3. Distributing symbolic rewards (Airdrops) to WCT holders from new projects as an incentive for interaction and participation.
How the project works
WCT was distributed to early users of the Waves system as a rewards system.
WCT holders could vote on projects or even propose developments.
It is used as an indicator of community trust: projects that receive many votes were considered worthy of support.
Uses of WCT within the system
Airdrops: many new projects offered free tokens to WCT holders.
Voting on new ICO projects.
Community representation: giving a voice to token holders in the future of the platform.
Is the project still active?
The project has lost a significant portion of its activity over time.
Waves' focus later shifted to other projects such as Waves Exchange, Neutrino Protocol, and Gravity Protocol.
