Recently, I discovered something quite strange: many people are wholeheartedly invested in altcoins, yet they don't even glance at mainstream coins. Holding mainstream coins is actually in line with the broader trend, following the market, and is relatively stable; however, being fully invested in altcoins, many believe this is a shortcut to becoming rich overnight. But there are truly too many pitfalls within.

First, let's talk about safety. The market cap and liquidity of altcoins, along with other key data, are often fabricated by the project teams. You are eagerly anticipating a big profit, but it’s very likely that the project team will leave you with nothing, losing all your investment.

Next, let's look at market fluctuations. The volatility of altcoins is often much greater than that of mainstream coins. People tend to focus on those altcoin cases that can increase tenfold, a hundredfold, or even a thousandfold, but those that drop to 'air', losing value by hundreds or thousands of times, are selectively ignored. Once a crash occurs, it’s possible for account assets to be wiped out instantly.

There’s also the impact on personal emotions. When coin prices rise, naturally everyone is joyful, feeling like they’ve reached the peak of life; but if coin prices plummet, many retail investors simply can't withstand that kind of anxiety. They can’t sleep at night, can’t eat, and are completely engulfed by negative emotions, making their lives a mess.

Being fully invested in altcoins, with good luck, you might indeed harvest unexpected surprises, and becoming rich overnight is not impossible. But it must be clear that the hidden risks here are truly significant. When investing, one must leave themselves an exit strategy, and not put all their eggs in one basket. Reasonably allocating positions and prioritizing the allocation of mainstream coins is the long-term strategy for making stable profits in the crypto space.
