the long-term value of Ethereum lies not in its ability to bend with the prevailing and highly shifting narrative winds of today but to build something great and useful which will last by surviving multiple category 5 hurricanes in succession, over and over again

the risk i don’t see discussed much (and i’m open to the possibility i’ve analyzed it incorrectly) is the Fed could do to stablecoins in the future what they did to Silicon Valley Bank and other regional banks more recently basically, raise interest rates so fast that it creates a duration mismatch against their Treasuries holdings, and then something creates a bank run where consumer rush to withdraw deposits and they can’t meet the demand only it wouldn’t just collapse one stablecoin, but rather, it could collapse the entire digital dollar economy, all without FDIC guarantees/protection

stablecoins will become a critical supply sink for US debt because they transmute ravenous demand for liquid, digital US dollars (the global reserve currency) into demand for US Treasuries / debt at a time when the government is actively nuking the desirability of holding debt for many participants due to devaluing the future payouts through inflation

demand to hold and use ETH directly defines its financial value. it’s literally that simple. all frameworks beyond this are memes chain revenue can support this through sustainable staking revenue and burn mechanisms, but it explains only a small portion of this demand in this way, ETH is valued much more like a commodity than it is valued like a security i'm perplexed (though not necessarily surprised) that some people are trying so hard to argue against this reality as of late
