Prior to the event, the PCT was operating 2 validators on the central node. However, on May 16, these validators were removed, and the network transitioned to complete community management.
Technical details: The Pi Network uses an improved Proof of Stake (IPoS) consensus mechanism. The shutdown of the central node allows the network to operate now without a central authority. This truly embodies the core principle of blockchain: decentralization.
