In a broadcast interview on Friday (May 16) on Fox News, Trump stated: “I had quite a tense exchange with Mr. Zelensky because I didn’t like what he was saying. He doesn’t make things easy. And I always say that he doesn’t have a strong card in hand.”
“I think Mr. Zelensky is the best salesman in the world, even better than me. He comes to Washington – and every time he leaves, he takes with him hundreds of millions of USD.”
President Trump also emphasized that the U.S. Congress is very displeased about this. “They are wondering where this money is being used?” Trump added. However, he also believes that President Zelensky's ability to lobby for aid is gradually diminishing.
