💵 In an era where cryptocurrencies are becoming more and more popular, scams are becoming more and more sophisticated. Zhao Changpeng (CZ), founder of Binance, has just shared some extremely important tips for users to protect their digital assets from scam attacks, especially phishing (fake news to get personal information).
Here are some tips straight from CZ:
1. Never share passwords
No one – not even “support staff” – has the right to ask for your password.
👉 If someone asks, it's a scam.
2. Do not click on links in emails
Phishing emails often impersonate exchanges or wallets.
✅ Just log in by typing the URL yourself or using saved bookmarks.
🔍 Always double check the domain name before entering any information.
3. Don't reuse passwords for multiple sites
Reusing passwords makes you vulnerable to hacking if a site has a data breach.
🔐 Use a password manager to create and store strong, separate passwords for each site.
📛 The manager also helps detect fake sites because it does not autofill if the domain name is incorrect.
4. Enable 2FA with hardware
Use a device like Yubikey instead of SMS authentication.
🔒 Yubikey helps prevent almost all phishing attacks and account hijacking.
CZ is not only the head of one of the largest exchanges in the world, but also someone who always emphasizes staying safe in the crypto space. Keep these simple tips in mind, because one moment of carelessness can cost you everything.
Crypto is self-custodial – and you are the first line of defense! 🔐
