It's estimated that quite a few brothers have already been testing on the @pharos_network testnet~~ To be honest, I didn't think much of it at first, after all, testnets are everywhere now, but after careful study, I found that this project actually has something going for it~~~
First, let's talk about the background. The team has quite a pedigree, with core members being veterans of the payment industry, including those coming from Stripe and Visa, as well as some who have previously worked at Chainlink~~~ The investment lineup is also quite luxurious, with top institutions like Hack VC and Lightspeed participating, raising over $8 million. Given the current market environment, this configuration is quite impressive~~
Technically, they have played a very clever trick: they are compatible with EVM, allowing developers to migrate seamlessly, while also doing deep optimization specifically for payment scenarios. The testnet has shown that transaction fees are absurdly low; a single Swap costs just a few cents, which is more than 90% cheaper than the mainnet~~ The ZK-Rollup technology they are using indeed has merit, unlike some chains that just boast without substance~~~
What makes me feel the most reliable is their merchant solution. Many projects are shouting about blockchain payments~~, but few can actually be used by merchants~~~ Pharos has developed a one-click integration SDK that also supports automatic settlement into fiat currency. If this can truly be promoted, it might become the Web3 version of Stripe. The testnet has already shown some demos of payment simulators, and the experience is indeed smoother than traditional solutions~~~
The testnet data is quite impressive; it has only been online for a short time, and the TVL has surged to over $5 million, with daily active addresses steadily increasing~~~
Of course, there are risks. The biggest issue is whether merchants can really utilize it, as competition in the payment industry is fierce~~~ However, based on the team's background, their connections in the traditional payment industry should be helpful. Additionally, the token economics have not been announced yet, which is something to keep an eye on~~
I suggest that interested brothers can lay out their plans early; the number of people interacting on the testnet is still not particularly high, making it a good time to earn rewards. Focus on getting the core interactions like Swap and LP right, and remember to sign in every day~~
My own strategy is to select 5-10 quality testnets to gradually invest in, and Pharos is one that I hold in high regard~ After the mainnet launches, who knows, I might be able to reap the benefits~
