In collaboration with Immunefi, the Ethereum Foundation introduced the Ethereum Protocol Attackathonāa large-scale, crowdsourced security audit competition. This event, held from November 25, 2024, to January 20, 2025, featured a reward pool of $1.5 million, seeded with an initial $500,000 by the Foundation. Participants engaged in identifying vulnerabilities within the Ethereum protocol, with impactful findings rewarded accordingly. The initiative aimed to enhance the security of Ethereum's core infrastructure through community involvement and expert analysis .
