Federal Reserve's Bostic: Expects one rate cut this year
On May 16, Raphael Bostic, President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, stated that due to economic uncertainties, he expects the Federal Reserve to cut rates only once this year. Bostic pointed out that the U.S. economic growth rate may be between 1% and 0.5% this year, and although growth is slowing, he does not believe a recession will occur.
Bostic also mentioned that the uncertainty surrounding tariff policy has increased the difficulty of economic forecasting and may require countering inflationary pressures from tariffs. He expects the inflation rate to return to the Federal Reserve's 2% target sometime in early 2027, which is later than his previous expectations. $BTC
