On May 14, 2025, the Ethereum Foundation launched the "Trillion Dollar Security" initiative to enhance the security of the network in preparation for widespread global adoption. The initiative aims to enable users to securely store $1,000 on the network and allow institutions to manage over a trillion dollars through smart contracts and decentralized applications.

The initiative follows three phases:

1. Risk Assessment: A comprehensive evaluation of Ethereum components, including user experience, wallet security, smart contracts, infrastructure, and consensus protocols.

2. Implementing Improvements: Developing solutions for identified issues, such as auditing tools and protocol updates.

3. Communication and Awareness: Disseminating knowledge and promoting a culture of security among developers and users.

The initiative is led by Frederik Svants and Josh Stark, supported by leading security experts such as Samkzsen, Mahdi Zerouali, and Zack O'Brut.
