#DREX , (Brazil's digital currency regulated by the central bank) abbreviation of "Digital Real X", is the new Brazilian digital currency, developed by the Central Bank of Brazil (BCB). The idea for DREX arose from the need to modernize the Brazilian financial system and explore the potential of digital currencies. DREX will be a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC), meaning a digital currency issued and regulated by the Central Bank, using blockchain technology.
