It is Binance's annual celebration of Bitcoin Pizza Day, commemorating the historic first real-world Bitcoin transaction on May 22, 2010, when Laszlo Hanyecz paid 10,000 BTC for two pizzas. In 2025, Binance is marking the 15th anniversary with a series of global events and promotions.
🎉 Binance Square Promotions
From May 15 to May 28, 2025 (UTC), Binance Square is hosting two main promotions:
Promotion A: New users who set up their Binance Square profile, follow and gain followers, engage with posts, and create their first post can earn 50 Binance Points and share in a 5,000 USDC token voucher pool (capped at 5 USDC per participant).
Promotion B: All users can create a post with the hashtag #BinancePizza and share a trade using the trade sharing widget to equally share a 1,000 USDC token voucher pool (also capped at 5 USDC per participant).
Eligible posts must contain at least 100 characters and garner a minimum of five engagements (likes, shares, comments, or reposts).
🍕 $5 Million BTC Referral Giveaway
In addition to the Binance Square promotions, Binance is offering a $5 million BTC rewards pool through a referral program:
Referral Rewards: Between May 15 and May 28, 2025 (UTC), users can refer friends to Binance. When a referred friend completes KYC and trades at least $200, both the referrer and the friend can unlock "Pizza Boxes" worth up to $20 in BTC. Each referrer can earn up to 15 Pizza Boxes.
Leaderboard Challenge: The top 100 referrers will share an additional $50,000 in BTC, with the top referrer receiving $5,000.
🌍 Global Pizza Day Events
Binance is also organizing in-person events worldwide to celebrate Bitcoin Pizza Day:
Istanbul, Turkey: On May 17, 2025, Binance TR is hosting a community meetup at De Marke Agency in Ataşehir, Istanbul, featuring free pizza, drinks, and a $1,000 prize pool. Attendance is limited to the first 200 participants.
Accra, Ghana: Binance Africa is holding a #BinancePizza event in Accra, where attendees can enjoy pizza, discuss Web3, and celebrate Bitcoin Pizza Day.
