Meet Laszlo Hanyecz — the man who made history by trading 10,000 BTC for two pizzas.

Back in 2010, he posted on a forum: “I’ll pay 10,000 bitcoins for a couple of pizzas.”

At the time, those coins were worth around $25 — just spare change.

Another user took him up on the offer, ordered two Papa John’s pizzas, and had them delivered to Laszlo’s home in Florida.

Laszlo transferred the 10,000 BTC using a basic command-line wallet, and just like that — lunch was served.

Fast forward to today, those 10,000 BTC are now worth over $1 billion (yes, with a B).

And that moment? It’s now commemorated every May 22 as Bitcoin Pizza Day, a lighthearted tribute to the first known real-world crypto transaction.

With BTC currently trading near $100,000, it’s hard not to wonder:

Has Laszlo ever forgiven himself?

Most people can’t even imagine what that feels like.

But hey — someone had to be first.
